Fall Repair and Sustainability Fair set for Saturday at Centralia College
The Fall Repair and Sustainability Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Centralia College’s Southwest Washington Flexible Training Center (SWFT). It will be hosted by volunteers from Lewis County Solid Waste Utility and Lewis County WSU extension master recycler composters. The event will focus on aiding community members in repairing their clothing or small appliances. According to a news release from the county’s department of public works, the volunteers are handy at a variety of crafts that enable them to repair clothing, furniture, electronics, bicycles and jewelry, and sharpen items such as scissors or garden shears. “We’re excited to offer another Repair and Sustainability Fair to Lewis County residents,” said Melanie Case, sustainability program coordinator for the Lewis County Department of Public Works Solid Waste Utility. She continued: “Our volunteers will teach people how to repair items and give the items a longer life by maintaining them and keeping items out of the landfill.” In addition to offering repairs, volunteers will be teaching classes on basic home composting and emergency preparedness. Information booths on how to live a more sustainable life, a “stuff swap” table, and kids crafts will also be available. The SWFT Center is located at 807 W. Pear St. in Centralia. 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (calf strain) to miss a few weeks

San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Deebo Samuel strained a calf late in the team's Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and will miss a couple of weeks, coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday.
Shanahan said Samuel believes he picked up the injury on the third-to-last play of the game, a 23-17 loss.
Samuel had a standout game, catching eight passes for 110 yards. He has 13 receptions
